At Blue Giraffe we want to help children explore the awe and wonder of the world in which they live, and to give children the best possible start to their early education.
We pride ourselves in offering a caring and nurturing environment for children. The safety and wellbeing of children is at the heart of everything we do.
We have a strong focus on outdoor learning as we believe that children learn best when they are healthy, active and have easy access to fresh air and nature. Each of our rooms has its own dedicated garden area, and we also have our own Grow Garden allotment, and an on-site Forest School.
You can relax when you bring your child to Blue Giraffe, comfortable in the knowledge that they will be safe, stimulated, nurtured, educated, and encouraged by our experienced staff team.
We are immensely proud of achieving an OUTSTANDING rating from Ofsted at our last inspection, and we continue to look for improvements every day. We were also shortlisted in Nursery World’s top 4 nurseries for Nursery of the Year 2022.

About Blue Giraffe Nursery
Where Every Child’s Journey Begins with Wonder
At Blue Giraffe our aim is to provide your child with opportunities to play, explore, learn, take risks, make choices, and gain confidence and life skills to grow into the individuals we aspire them to be.
We support children’s natural curiosity and urge to learn. We focus on learning through purposeful “child-led” play in a range of planned and spontaneous activities. Our experienced staff team are there to guide, prompt, challenge, question, and encourage children throughout the day. Through these interactions we empower children to choose, reason, reflect, imagine and empathise to build their confidence and self-esteem.
We know that children learn best when they’re healthy, active and have easy access to fresh air and nature where they are able to explore and be creative. We have our own Forest School on site, with a dedicated Forest School instructor. We also have a grow garden and vegetable allotment.
We follow the Government’s Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum and use regular assessments to monitor and record your child’s development. We are also guided by leading theories in Early Years education such as those of Maria Montessori, who believed in creating children who are independent and self- sufficient, Forest School, and the Reggio Emilia approach, which builds on children’s creativity where they take a lead in their learning and development.
