Our primary aim is to provide high quality childcare that encourages children to develop socially, intellectually, and physically in a fun, safe, and stimulating environment. Ofsted rated us Outstanding at our last inspection and we have been nominated for numerous awards.

Outdoor Learning

Outdoor learning is a big part of what we deliver here at Blue Giraffe. Our garden areas provide children with exciting opportunities, to explore and be creative. Our bespoke outdoor curriculum gives children the opportunity to connect or reconnect with the world around them and find balance.

Children use the outdoor areas daily, and our main classrooms have “free flow” access as the gardens lead directly off from their rooms. We also have a Forest School garden and our own vegetable allotment.

Safety

The safety and wellbeing of children is at the heart of everything we do. We pride ourselves on maintaining the safety and security of our nursery, and staff are trained to a high-standard in a variety of subjects including Paediatric First Aid, Food Safety, and Safeguarding.

Value for Money

We know that nursery fees can be expensive and as parents we strive to keep our prices low while maintaining a high level of service. We aim to offer high quality early education, whilst also offering the best value-for-money nursery in the area.

Flexible Hours

Flexibility – we understand that parents have different schedules. Where possible we look to offer flexible booking patterns and a range of funding options, including the government funded hours.

Open Spaces

Our rooms are bright, spacious, and welcoming spaces that allow children the freedom to learn, explore, express themselves, and interact and build relationships with staff and other children.

We have dedicated rooms for different age groups including a specialist area for babies, open plan toddler rooms and a large flexible space for preschool. We also are lucky to have a dedicated sensory room.

Tailored Childcare

Each child has a named key person who will offer a consistent and nurturing relationship for your child. The key person will find out from you your child’s routine, likes and dislikes in order to make sure your child’s care is tailored to their individual needs.

Plenty of Attention

Your child will receive plenty of attention, affection, supervision and encouragement in our care. Messy play, singing and nursery rhymes, outdoor play, role-play, dressing up, stories, fun and laughter are the order of the day, however, we recognise the importance of times when children are tired and need to sleep or relax.

School Readiness

At Blue Giraffe our aim is to instill children with the confidence and independence to be ready for school, and to grow into the individuals we aspire them to be. We encourage children to make their own choices, develop friendships, become resilient, and manage their own risks.

We have close relationships with some feeder schools in the area and work closely with them to support school readiness and the transition to school.

Parent Partnerships

Our parents and carers are as much part of our family as the children in our nurseries. Parenting can be a joyful but complicated journey, which is why our teams are here to support you every step of the way.

We know that our parents’ lives are busy, which is why we have our handy app, so you can track your child’s activities, milestones, nappy changes, meals and sleeps throughout the day. It is also on here that we complete termly assessments to monitor your child’s progress throughout the year. On top of this, our team will give you face to face updates at pick-up every day to ensure that you are well-informed about your child’s day.

Healthy Eating

Children learn better when they are energised and fuelled by nutritious food. We offer our children wholesome, cooked meals and snacks, freshly prepared every day by specialist nursery caterers. We encourage children to develop a positive attitude to food and healthy lifestyles. It is important that children develop healthy habits when they first learn about food.

Language-Rich Environment

We focus on developing communication, language and literacy skills as the essential building blocks of learning.We extend and encourage language, new words and vocabulary and also focus on forming friendships and supporting children how to play. We want to foster a love of reading using stories, songs, rhymes

Real World Activities

We use “real world” activities such as cooking, gardening, vegetable growing, technology, and construction to develop confident inquisitive children.
